This is currently Xiaomi’s top-of-the-line watch, even surpassing the highly acclaimed S1 Pro.
I also own an S3, but it simply can’t hold a candle to this one.

In terms of design, I’d say it has a rugged appeal that’s not for everyone. Girls, in particular, might find it less appealing. Both of my female family members prefer the sleeker look of the S3. But personally, I adore it—its build quality is nothing short of exceptional.

When it comes to eSIM functionality, the official word is that it supports both Telecom and Unicom. However, in reality, Telecom has temporarily halted its eSIM services, leaving Unicom as the only viable option at the moment.

Regarding app stores, I noticed that Xiaomi Health doesn’t offer one. All supported apps are pre-installed, so once you’re aware of this, the absence of an app store becomes a non-issue.

Many people weigh the decision between Xiaomi and Oppo X based on independent WeChat functionality. While I think it’s a neat feature, its practicality on a smartwatch is practically zero. Why? Do you really want to drain your battery life just for this convenience? Plus, the user experience isn’t all that great anyway.

By the way, the running algorithm still relies on Xiaomi’s proprietary system rather than Suunto. For activities like hiking or off-road adventures, however, it does leverage Suunto’s technology for enhanced performance.

  1. I agree with your take on the design; the rugged look definitely suits certain tastes better. It’s interesting to hear how the S4 Sport compares to the S3, especially since I’ve been debating between those two models myself. The build quality does sound impressive, though I wonder how it holds up in terms of battery life compared to its predecessors. Overall, it seems like Xiaomi is really stepping up their game with this one!

    1. Absolutely! The battery life on the S4 Sport is quite impressive, lasting up to a week on a single charge, which is a noticeable improvement over the S3. It’s great to hear you’re considering both models—each has its own strengths depending on what you prioritize. Thanks for your thoughtful comment, and I’m glad you found the review helpful!
