April is the perfect time to embrace a little adventure and head north in Western Australia, where nature’s beauty unfolds like an open secret.

🔧 Special Gear:
1. Insect repellent spray or a bug hat/veil—your best friend against pesky critters.
2. A star mirror and tripod for capturing the night sky’s magic—I used the Viltrox 16F1.8 top.
3. A drone to soar above breathtaking landscapes; mine was the DJI Air 3. While flying over the iconic pink lake, I met a lovely couple from Singapore who spontaneously hired me to film a video for them. Sometimes, opportunities come knocking in the most unexpected ways!

📅 Itinerary:

It was peak season, so we opted for Geraldton as our base camp—a wise decision for comfort and convenience.

**Day 1:**
We set off around 10:30 AM, cruising from Perth to Geraldton. Along the way, we indulged in a delicious seafood lunch at the Lobster Shack in Cervantes and made a quick stop at Jurien Bay. If you’re accustomed to Chinese-style lobster, the flavors here might seem a tad average—it truly depends on personal taste (check out P8 for visuals).

By evening, we arrived in Geraldton just in time to capture the famous crystal ball in all its glory. Later that night, we ventured into the wilderness nearby to photograph the mesmerizing Milky Way. However, after exploring two spots about 40 minutes away, I realized they lacked stunning vistas, so I won’t recommend them.

To be honest, the sheer beauty of the Milky Way and starry skies has become almost routine for me now.

**Day 2:**
Departing around 9:30 AM, we embarked on a scenic drive from Geraldton to Kalbarri and back. En route, we passed the enchanting pink lake and reached Kalbarri by noon. The national park offers a straightforward yet thrilling experience. First, we marveled at the Skywalk, followed by the awe-inspiring Nature’s Window, and finally, the majestic Z-Bend.
At Nature’s Window, a group of influencers from the east turned up, creating a lineup of fifty to sixty people that utterly ruined the serene atmosphere for photography. Thankfully, Z-Bend proved far more rewarding (as seen in P4, P5, P6). A short, two-kilometer hike led us to this hidden gem, offering effortless access despite the relentless flies buzzing around.
Without a veil, it would’ve been unbearable. We headed back to Geraldton around 5 PM, exhausted but exhilarated.
**Day 3:**
After enjoying a leisurely brunch near Geraldton, we visited the iconic lighthouse before heading home. On the way, we stopped briefly at the Pinnacles and Lancelin to snap some photos, making our return journey to Perth memorable.
