For quite some time, I’ve had my eye on a mirrorless camera, and recently, I treated myself to the newly released Nikon Z5ii. Instead of opting for a standard ‘kit’ lens, I chose the sleek 40mm F2 lens because I wanted to dive into night street photography with this camera. For a while, I wrestled with the decision between the Z5ii and the ZF, which boasts a charming vintage design.

In the end, I’m thrilled I went with the Z5ii—it’s exceptional, compact, and incredibly ergonomic when paired with the 40mm lens. Its low-light performance has surpassed my expectations.

My first serious digital camera was a Nikon D90 from 2008, and it’s astonishing to see how far technology has come since then. The difference between these two cameras is nothing short of remarkable. I can hardly wait to capture more moments and explore everything the Z5ii has to offer.
