My RTX 4090 system is configured to dual-boot Windows 11 and Fedora KDE, but the Linux experience has been less than ideal due to display issues. I use two ultrawide and two 16:9 monitors, and running games through xwayland often fails to recognize the correct 3440×1440 resolution on my main display. As a result, I’ve had to manually enable gamescope for certain titles to force the proper resolution and HDR support.
Are there any effective solutions or distributions, such as Bazzite or CachyOS, that handle these resolution and scaling problems out of the box without requiring manual launch options? While the operating system correctly detects the resolution, xwayland does not, leading to visual issues in games like Resident Evil 2 Remake.
