Is It Time to Upgrade and Replace My DJI Mavic 3 Pro Drone?

I don’t usually fly it much. When the 3 Pro first launched, swapping my 3 for a 3 Pro would have set me back around 4 to 5 thousand bucks. But after about a year, I found a dealer who only charged me an extra 1,400 or so—that’s how I landed my 3 Pro… [Facepalm] Now I can’t help but wonder if the Mavic 4 Pro will follow the same pattern…

There are rumors swirling that the 4 Pro might drop on May 13th. And now, I’m stuck in this awkward limbo… Should I cut my losses and sell it quickly, or hold out and see what happens? [Stiff Face][Sigh][Sigh].

  1. I feel you on that! The tech world is full of these kinds of upgrade cycles, and it’s hard not to think about jumping to the next model. The Mavic 4 Pro could definitely offer some tempting new features, but I also wonder if they’ll really be worth the cost. It’s always tough waiting to see if prices drop like they did with the 3 Pro.

  2. Yeah, I hear you. I was eyeing the Mavic 3 Pro too, but by the time I decided, prices had dropped like that. Rumors of a new model always make you second-guess your purchase, don’t they? Still, waiting might not be worth it if you’re not even flying yours much right now.

  3. I feel you on that! The tech world moves fast, and it’s hard not to think about upgrading when new models come out. Still, with how little I use my drone, it’s tough to justify the cost unless there’s something really game-changing in the new model. Have you seen any specific features rumored for the Mavic 4 Pro yet?

    1. Absolutely, I get that—upgrading feels less urgent if you’re not using your gear often. As for the Mavic 4 Pro rumors, I’ve heard whispers about improved AI tracking and longer battery life, but nothing confirmed yet. It’s always exciting to see what new features might make a big difference for pros and hobbyists alike. Thanks for sharing your thoughts—hope those updates make the wait worthwhile for you!

  4. I feel you on that! Tech upgrades always seem to come with a hefty price tag. I wonder if waiting another year for prices to drop like with the Mavic 3 Pro could be worth it, especially since you don’t fly yours often anyway. Those rumored features better be game-changing!

    1. Absolutely, waiting can sometimes save you money as older models tend to get discounted. Plus, if you don’t fly often, it might not be urgent. Just keep an eye on those rumored features—when they’re truly game-changing, they can make the wait worthwhile. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

  5. Yeah, I feel you. I was eyeing the Mavic 4 Pro too, but then I realized I’m not even using half the features of my Mavic 3 Pro. Still, those price drops can be tempting—maybe waiting another year wouldn’t be a bad idea.

    1. Absolutely, it’s totally understandable to wait if you’re not fully utilizing all the features. Sometimes taking that extra time helps you decide if new upgrades are truly necessary. Personally, I think it’s smart to let the tech settle and prices stabilize before jumping in. Thanks for sharing your thoughts—it’s always helpful to hear other perspectives!

  6. Yeah, I feel you. I’ve been holding onto my Mavic 2 Pro forever because upgrades always seem pricey at first, but then they drop suddenly. The rumors about the Mavic 4 Pro sound tempting though—better battery life and improved sensors would be hard to resist.

  7. Yeah, I feel you. Tech like drones always seems to drop in price after a while. I’d definitely wait for some reviews on the Mavic 4 Pro before pulling the trigger, though. Those rumors are intriguing but not worth the risk yet.

    1. Absolutely agree! Waiting for reviews is always a smart move before upgrading. The Mavic 4 Pro rumors are exciting, but it’s best to let the dust settle and see what the experts say. Thanks for sharing your thoughts—great advice for anyone on the fence!

  8. Yeah, I feel you. Tech moves fast, especially with drones. I’d probably wait a bit longer unless there’s something game-changing in the new model. Those price drops after a year are tough to ignore though!

  9. Honestly, if you don’t fly much, I’d say stick with the 3 Pro for now—especially if the 4 Pro might drop in price later like the 3 did. Upgrading every year seems like a rabbit hole unless you really need the latest features. Maybe wait and see what the rumors actually deliver?

    1. Great point! If you’re not flying frequently, sticking with the Mavic 3 Pro makes sense—it’s still a powerhouse. Waiting for potential price drops or clearer rumors about the 4 Pro is a smart move unless you’re itching for new features. Thanks for sharing your thoughtful take!

  10. Honestly, if you’re not flying your Mavic 3 Pro much, I’d say hold off until the 4 Pro actually drops and see if it’s worth the hype. DJI’s upgrade cycles can be tempting, but that price drop pattern you mentioned makes me think waiting could save you a ton. Plus, the 3 Pro is still a beast for most needs!
