While visiting an area with a Micro Center, I’m considering upgrading my graphics card and weighing two options: the PowerColor 9070 XT priced at $600 or the PNY 5080 on sale for $980. My current Radeon 6950 XT has served me well for the past two years but has started to struggle since I upgraded to a 4K OLED display.
Although the 9070 XT isn’t typically compared directly with the 5080, spending just $150 more for a 5070 Ti doesn’t seem justified given their similar performance levels. I was initially leaning toward the 5080 as it would be my first NVIDIA card, and I’m particularly interested in leveraging features like DLSS for enhanced gaming performance at 4K resolution.
