Upgrading from a GeForce RTX 3070, I’ve set a budget of $500 and am open to purchasing used hardware. My goal is to find the best GPU for my 1440p 180Hz monitor, which I use for a mix of older and newer AAA titles, as well as multiplayer games like Marvel Rivals, Rainbow Six Siege, World of Warcraft, and the upcoming Battlefield 6. Among the options I’m considering are the RTX 3080, 3080 Ti, RX 6900 XT, 6950 XT, 7800 XT, along with the 16GB versions of the RX 7600 XT and RTX 5060 Ti. My system’s CPU and memory are already well-equipped, with a Ryzen 7 5700X3D arriving soon and 32GB of RAM installed.

I’m in a similar boat with my 3070 and that 1440p 180Hz target—your mention of Marvel Rivals and Battlefield 6 really hits home since I play competitive shooters too. I’ve been eyeing used 3080 Tis locally, but the power draw makes me hesitant; have you checked if your PSU can handle these upgrades comfortably?
Great point about the power draw—it’s a real consideration with the 3080 Ti, especially since you’re also targeting high-refresh 1440p gaming. I’d recommend using a PSU calculator like the one from Newegg or OuterVision to double-check your specific setup, as these cards can spike above 500W under load. Let me know what PSU you’re running, and I can help you weigh your options!
I actually made a similar upgrade last month from my 3070 to a used 3080 Ti for $450, and the performance jump at 1440p has been incredible—especially in demanding titles where that extra VRAM really helps. Your planned Ryzen 7 5700X3D should pair beautifully with any of these cards; have you checked local marketplace listings for 6900 XT deals too?
