I would choose the S25 Edge, even without any freebies.
The S25 Edge offer is too good to pass up. I own this phone and it’s amazing. The battery life can be excellent with a few adjustments, and the camera is solid as long as you don’t rely heavily on the zoom.
If you’re not a heavy user, I’d recommend the Edge. As a light to medium user myself, I have the base S25 and it easily lasts me a full day.
If the buds and watch weren’t included, I’d choose the S24 instead.
The S24 Ultra and S25 Edge are designed for completely different purposes.
If you need new earbuds and a watch, the Edge is a good choice, but you’ll be sacrificing phone quality. If you prefer a better phone, go with the Ultra.
The S24 Ultra has better cameras, but that’s a solid deal for the Edge, especially since the Buds and Watch 8 are quite expensive on their own.
The S24 Ultra is much more exciting than the S25 Edge.
I’d recommend the S25 Edge. I’m currently getting 9 hours of screen-on time with it. While I like the phone overall, I find it a bit too thin for my preference and will likely upgrade to the S26 Ultra next year.
Most people who recommend other phones based on battery life rely solely on specs without having actually tested the device.
I get 6-7 hours of screen-on time on my S25+.
For social media browsing and listening to music with earbuds, the S24 Ultra would be a great choice.
The S24 Ultra is the better choice.
Go with the Edge even without the freebies. The S24 Ultra is too big and heavy, and the S Pen isn’t useful for me.
It’s surprising to see this being downvoted. The S25 Edge is a better choice for most users, offering superior software updates, a faster processor, and enhanced AI features. With the included freebies, it’s an obvious decision.
I understand your concern about the weight. I’ve grown accustomed to lighter phones with the Flip7 and found the Fold7’s weight to be bothersome.
The S25 Edge’s processor is about 40-50% more efficient, and it includes a new cooling system. This means it will likely stay relevant longer than the S24 Ultra.
If you’re just buying the phone, go with the S24 Ultra. However, with the included freebies, the Edge becomes the better choice.
With a watch and buds included, that’s an incredible deal. The Edge is the best new phone experience I’ve had since my first smartphone. Many people here tend to prefer the Ultra, but for 95% of users, the Edge is one of the best phones available. Only power users see significant benefits from the Ultra, and even then, I wouldn’t choose it due to the strain it can put on fingers and wrists, especially for heavy users like myself.
The S24 Ultra will outperform in most areas.
If you’re buying new, go for the S24 Ultra. If it’s used, the Edge with extras is the better choice.
Overall, the S24 Ultra is significantly better, and it’s not even close. It’s also cheaper here. However, the free Buds 3 and Watch 8 make it a tough choice. Considering the freebies, I’d suggest trying the Edge. In my country, just the Buds 3 and Watch 8 cost $365, so that deal is incredible. In the worst case, you could sell the Edge and buy the S24 Ultra.
The Ultra is much more versatile, so it’s a better overall phone. However, the Edge may have other advantages you might prefer, such as its size and weight.
The S24 Ultra offers the S Pen and telephoto lens, but what else does it provide?
I find the Edge more versatile due to its lighter weight, making it comfortable for extended use and easier to carry. It also has a sleek appearance.
The appeal of a bulkier device with features like the S Pen and telephoto lens is unclear to me, as they seem situational for most users. Unless you have a specific need, an e-note taker would offer a superior drawing experience and longer battery life. Drawing or taking notes on a small phone screen isn’t ideal for the majority of people.
You’ve already stated that the Ultra’s advantages over the Edge are features most people don’t use. I’m not interested in continuing a discussion with someone who believes features they don’t use are useless. While a more complete phone doesn’t mean it’s better for everyone, there’s no doubt the Ultra is overall the more capable device. I’ll leave it at that.
I didn’t say the Ultra’s features are useless. I’m just pointing out that most average users probably don’t need a phone that’s nearly twice as heavy for features they’ll rarely use, especially when it’s something you carry and handle daily.
For me, the choice is clear. I feel strongly about this because the Edge model often gets unfairly criticized. I love mine and think it’s a shame that potential buyers might be steered away by influencers and power users who push the Ultra, when many people would actually be better suited with either the Edge or S25+.
