  1. Since the RTX 5070 Ti has an OLED display, I would prefer that model. This way, you won’t need to buy a separate OLED monitor, especially since you mentioned space is limited at home.

Only choose the 5080 IPS version if you don’t mind missing out on OLED.

  3. I purchased the same G16 Strix 2025 model from Amazon earlier this year. After about a month of use, I’ve noticed occasional black screens while gaming, though audio continues and the keyboard becomes unresponsive. Restarting sometimes doesn’t fix the keyboard issue, but a second restart resolves it.

  4. Choose the STRIX. It offers superior cooling, a larger heatsink, and more overclocking and wattage headroom, delivering better overall performance than the Zephyrus with the same hardware.

The Zephyrus is only worth considering if you specifically need a slightly lighter and thinner laptop for daily portability. Otherwise, it doesn’t offer much advantage.

Additionally, IPS LED displays last significantly longer than OLED screens. While OLED may look better initially, the STRIX’s 500-nits 100% DCI-P3 IPS LED with anti-glare coating is excellent and more durable.

For RAM upgrades, the Zephyrus comes with 2x16GB, so upgrading to 64GB requires replacing both sticks with 2x32GB. The STRIX includes 1x32GB, so you only need to add another 32GB stick to reach 64GB.

Overall, the STRIX provides better cooling, greater hardware longevity, easier RAM upgrades, and a superior GPU. The Zephyrus’s OLED screen, while a plus now, may suffer from pixel burn-in over time.

I own the STRIX with the RTX 5070 Ti and Core Ultra 9 configuration.

  5. I’d recommend the Zephyrus. At that price, it’s a solid choice. I use mine daily for gaming and watching movies, and it’s been a great experience. The speakers and screen are premium, while the keyboard and trackpad are comfortable. Battery life is decent too, averaging 8-10 hours for video playback.
