Sometimes we receive digital items, like certain offers or similar things. Personally, I collect almost exclusively physical copies, but you can still find the steelbook.
I checked eBay and might get it just to display on my shelf, even without the game inside. I already have an empty Steelbook for Tears of the Kingdom, so this would fit right in with my collection.
I have hundreds of empty steelbooks myself, and I buy any I come across, so I understand how you feel.
