While The Last Guardian and the Ratchet & Clank reboot are also notable exclusions, it’s highly unlikely we’ll see Demon’s Souls or Bloodborne on PC. Despite their vocal fanbases, these titles sold modestly compared to Sony’s other franchises, making ports a lower priority. The original Demon’s Souls sold only around 500,000 copies, so its remake was already surprising.
Additionally, many classic collections—including God of War, Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, and Sly Cooper—remain exclusive to PS3.
Demon’s Souls sold over two million copies on a AA budget, which is a solid performance. As for Bloodborne, it had reached 7.46 million copies sold by February 2022, and likely approaches nine million now. These are respectable figures. Regarding Ratchet and Clank, porting the 2016 version isn’t essential since Rift Apart is a superior game and is already available on Steam.
Compared to other Sony IPs, Bloodborne is only the 19th best-selling PS4 game, so porting it likely isn’t a high priority for Sony. For context, Spider-Man, Sony’s best-selling published game on PS4, sold nearly triple that at 22.6 million copies.
Yes, and Bloodborne was made with only a tenth of Spider-Man’s budget, making it even more profitable.
Typically, most of a game’s budget is allocated to marketing. A smaller budget means less money for marketing, which reduces the incentive to port a game that may not meet sales expectations.
Is there a petition for this?
I don’t believe so, as it would remove any reason to purchase a PS5, aside from Astrobot.
The PS5 has only two must-play exclusives: Demon’s Souls and Astro Bot. Ironically, these are also the least likely to receive a PC port.
I also waited for the slim model, but only found memorable experiences with those two games. I ended up selling it since it was just gathering dust.
I hope so.
As a Sony representative, I’m aware of the answer, but I cannot share it at this time.
That explains your username. I understand now.
If they believe there’s money to be made, they will.
It would be great to see the original God of War trilogy as well, though I don’t expect that to happen.
I believe the Uncharted collection is already available on PC.
Yes, the collection includes the fourth game and Legacy of Thieves, but not the original trilogy.
I already owned these games on my PS5, so I didn’t check if the collection was available on PC.
It’s unclear what Sony plans to release on PC, so I don’t have any idea.
I hope not. I’m not a fan of those remakes.
That reminds me, I should check out the PS3 emulator.
Just seven years ago, people were saying Atlus would never port Persona to PC.
