Is there something specific the P2000 isn’t handling for you? The Intel Arc is a good option, but its idle power consumption is fairly high.
The P2000 is performing well.
What is your homelab philosophy? Do you follow “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” or “if it ain’t broke, you aren’t homelabbing enough”?
Arc cards generally perform well for transcoding, but consider whether you’re ready to invest time into something that isn’t currently an issue.
For a homelab setup with just two concurrent Plex users, an RTX 5090 would be more than enough.
All I’ve heard is that the Arc has AV1 support, but I’m not sure where that’s used.
I use an Arc A310 for transcoding to AV1. It has saved me significant storage space, and AV1 streaming works well since it’s widely supported by browsers.
