That’s correct.
You can definitely see the Ring Nebula visually with the right telescope and in the right location at the right time of year. It looks amazing in my 12-inch Dobsonian telescope under Bortle 5–6 skies.
How long was the exposure time? How did you capture a nebula using your phone?
For capturing M31 and M57, try Astroshader—an iPhone app that automatically stacks your images.
What Bortle scale zone was this taken from?
How visible were these to the naked eye? While they won’t appear as clear as in stacked and processed images, were they at all distinguishable?
You can see the core of Andromeda and the faint ring shape in real time.
You are the king of mobile astrophotography.
You’re welcome!
