Je me demande si ce modèle conviendrait pour observer des objets du ciel profond (DSO), ou si je devrais continuer à chercher une autre option de télescope.

Ayant moi-même débuté avec un petit réfracteur, je comprends votre question sur le Celestron 114 EQ pour le ciel profond. Son miroir sphérique de 114mm peut montrer quelques objets brillants comme M42, mais j’ai trouvé que les aberrations optiques gâchaient souvent les détails sur les galaxies plus faibles. Perso, j’ai finalement économisé pour un Newton à miroir parabolique d’occasion, ce fut un vrai changement. Avez-vous déjà pu tester un instrument similaire en conditions réelles ?

The PowerSeeker series is notoriously poor, and while the 114EQ isn’t the worst model, it has a wobbly mount and low-quality accessories. You would be better off with a similarly priced or even less expensive tabletop Dobsonian telescope.
The Powerseeker 114EQ is widely considered one of the worst telescopes you can buy. It has a spherical mirror that produces poor image quality, a shaky mount that makes it difficult to use, and generally provides a very frustrating experience, especially for a beginner. For a similar budget, you can find much better options that will actually show you clear views of the planets and moon. I strongly recommend checking the wiki on r/telescopes for some good beginner recommendations.
If you can get it very cheaply and plan to modify it into a Dobsonian, then yes. Otherwise, no. As others have noted, the telescope itself is acceptable, but the mount is nearly unsafe.
Low-end Celestron telescopes are generally poor quality.
If you have to ask, then no.
That said, the issues with the Powerseeker 114 are mainly with the mount and eyepieces, so it is possible to improve it.
I would not recommend it. It’s not a good telescope.
