I’ve been a fan of DJI for years now. Ever since I stumbled upon the Flip and realized it perfectly suited my needs, it felt like unlocking an entirely new world. It’s absolutely fantastic for low-altitude and indoor shots, but when traveling to breathtaking landscapes with stronger winds, I yearn to capture even more stunning footage.

That’s why I’ve been eyeing the Mavic series. And guess what? A brand-new product is just around the corner! (By the way, during the New Year, I tested a drone in Suzhou Bay. Even a gentle breeze had it shaking wildly—hilarious yet slightly nerve-wracking!)

[One] The new model boasts a completely reimagined design for its head, offering far more robust flight assistance features. With real-time displays of its surroundings, enhanced positioning accuracy, and an even better video transmission system, this drone truly raises the bar.

[Two] For those opting for the top-tier configuration, there’s a whopping 2TB of built-in storage, eliminating the need for external memory cards. As for mid-range and lower models, we’ll have to wait and see how much storage they offer—but here’s hoping they also ditch the memory card requirement altogether.

[Three] The camera is equipped with a 100-megapixel sensor capable of effortlessly shooting in 6K resolution. Its performance in low-light conditions has improved dramatically, making nighttime shots smoother and clearer than ever before.

[Four] Advanced dual controllers are included, meaning you can team up with friends on outings—one person handles the flight while the other takes charge of the camera. This interactive setup adds a whole new level of fun to the experience.

[Five] Visual positioning, power efficiency, and battery life have all seen significant upgrades. These improvements ensure longer flight times and greater reliability.

Of course, there’s a catch: the price tag is higher, with the expected single-unit cost surpassing 15,000 RMB (and possibly only supporting six-month interest-free installment plans). Additionally, the device weighs in at 1045g, which might make some users pause—but it could also mean better wind resistance.

There’s a rumor floating around that LiDAR has been removed, though. If true, that would be disappointing, as it performed admirably on the Air3S. Still, let’s keep our fingers crossed and eagerly await further details!
