DJI Drone Repair Services: Professional Sharing and Tips

Last year, I treated myself to a DJI Mini 3, hoping it would elevate my landscape photography game. This year, I took it on a national trip, and surprisingly, the drone stayed intact throughout the journey—until one fateful day in a bustling square.

1️⃣ The Crash
It happened while I was capturing footage of a statue in an open square, about ten meters above the ground. The battery was nearly drained, so I carefully maneuvered the controls to bring the drone down safely. But just as I adjusted the stick to retreat and lower its height, disaster struck—it plummeted to the ground, and the battery even ejected from the drone’s frame!

2️⃣ The Aftermath
In that moment, panic set in. One of the drone’s arms was clearly broken, and I wasn’t sure what to do next. My mind raced with options: Should I send it back to DJI for repairs? How much would it cost? If the price was too steep, maybe I’d just replace the entire drone or seek help from another tech-savvy blogger.

Eventually, I decided to go through DJI’s official self-service repair process via their WeChat account. Using SF Express Cash on Delivery (COD), I filled out the details of the crash and sent it off. To my surprise, the process was lightning-fast. Within three to four days, they had diagnosed the issue and provided a detailed breakdown of the costs.

According to customer service, the crash occurred due to a signal disconnection, though I wasn’t entirely convinced. I later learned online that if you provide the exact time of the crash, DJI can retrieve the aircraft’s status at that moment to pinpoint the cause. Not sure if that’s true, but hey, who knows?

3️⃣ Lessons Learned
