While the Demon’s Souls Remake, Shadow of the Colossus Remake, and Uncharted trilogy represent some of the most essential PlayStation-exclusive titles from recent generations, they remain conspicuously absent from PC. It’s understandable that Sony might be holding back Bloodborne for a potential PS6 remake, but the continued absence of these other acclaimed games is puzzling. Given their established popularity, releasing them on Steam would seem like an obvious and lucrative opportunity for the company.

  1. It’s genuinely puzzling that Sony hasn’t brought these acclaimed remakes to PC yet, especially since releasing them on Steam seems like such a clear win. As someone who switched from console to PC gaming, I’ve been waiting to experience the Demon’s Souls Remake for years now. What do you think is the main reason they’re holding back these particular titles?

    1. I completely understand your frustration as a fellow PC gamer who’s been eagerly waiting for that stunning Demon’s Souls Remake experience. The main reason likely ties back to Sony’s strategic pacing of its PC ports, using them to carefully stoke interest in its console ecosystem and future projects, rather than releasing all its top-tier exclusives at once. While we wait, keeping an eye on official PlayStation channels for announcements is our best bet, and I’d recommend joining communities like the Steam Demons Souls hub to add your voice to the demand. I’m curious, which of the rumored titles would you want to see on PC the most?

  2. It’s genuinely puzzling that Sony hasn’t brought these to PC yet, especially since you mentioned the obvious and lucrative opportunity with Steam. I finally caved and bought a PS5 primarily for Demon’s Souls, and while it was stunning, I would have vastly preferred playing it on my PC. Has there been any credible rumor lately about them finally changing their strategy?

    1. I completely understand caving for a PS5 just for Demon’s Souls—that stunning visual showcase is exactly why so many of us want it on PC! While there’s no single credible rumor pinpointing a release, the broader strategy is clear as Sony continues porting its catalog, so staying tuned to official PlayStation channels is your best bet. Have you added it to your Steam wishlist as a signal of interest, and what other PlayStation exclusive would you like to see next on PC?

  3. While The Last Guardian and the Ratchet & Clank reboot are also notable exclusions, it’s highly unlikely we’ll see Demon’s Souls or Bloodborne on PC. Despite their vocal fanbases, these titles sold modestly compared to Sony’s other franchises, making ports a lower priority. The original Demon’s Souls sold only around 500,000 copies, so its remake was already surprising.

Additionally, many classic collections—including God of War, Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, and Sly Cooper—remain exclusive to PS3.

    1. Demon’s Souls sold over two million copies on a AA budget, which is a solid performance. As for Bloodborne, it had reached 7.46 million copies sold by February 2022, and likely approaches nine million now. These are respectable figures. Regarding Ratchet and Clank, porting the 2016 version isn’t essential since Rift Apart is a superior game and is already available on Steam.

      1. Compared to other Sony IPs, Bloodborne is only the 19th best-selling PS4 game, so porting it likely isn’t a high priority for Sony. For context, Spider-Man, Sony’s best-selling published game on PS4, sold nearly triple that at 22.6 million copies.

          1. Typically, most of a game’s budget is allocated to marketing. A smaller budget means less money for marketing, which reduces the incentive to port a game that may not meet sales expectations.
