Two points to consider. First, do you mean starting a channel? Calling it a career would require you to evaluate what you hope to achieve on YouTube. Second, what does age have to do with it?
I started at 32, so just get to it. Regardless of who you are or what content you create, you can make it work by consistently improving over time.
I’m five months away from turning 30 and doing well.
You’re never too old to start a channel—I began my first in my late 30s. However, the odds of building a career on YouTube are extremely low at any age. Treat it as a fun hobby that might earn some extra money if you’re fortunate. Only consider it a career once you’re consistently earning enough to support yourself from it.
Don’t quit your day job to start as a full-time YouTuber if you’re just beginning. However, it’s never too late to start anything as long as you’re still alive and aware.
I started my channel in July, just before turning 29. The Skyrim Grandma began at a much older age. It’s never too late.
Age doesn’t matter as long as you have passion for the content you create. I run a channel dedicated to one type of game, but recently started another covering all video games because of my love for gaming. Passion and determination are what truly matter.
I’m 33 and probably past my prime, but I love streaming, so I keep at it.
Of course you can become a YouTuber at 29. Your age isn’t a barrier to starting a YouTube channel.
I started my YouTube channel at age 28 in 2022 and now have 250,000 subscribers. I don’t believe age has any impact on your ability to succeed.
You can absolutely become a YouTuber at 29. Age is just a number, so go for it and start building your audience.
You can do anything you set your mind to.
I’m a YouTuber at 46. Don’t let your age stop you from sharing your story.
I’m 35 and started my channel just before my birthday, so I certainly hope age isn’t a barrier. However, I wouldn’t recommend approaching it with the expectation of making it a career right away. Your potential success may depend on your chosen niche, but growth tends to be slow across the board—some areas more than others.
