These would be much better if they integrated more seamlessly into the snorkel head. In this mockup, they look like something just tacked on the front rather than being a natural part of the design.
These would interfere with the snorkel’s proper function, and I wouldn’t use one. That’s a practical issue, aside from the awkward appearance.

Remember that it takes in air. Perhaps if you designed the entire snorkel head so that air intake isn’t restricted or doesn’t create excessive noise.
Thank you for the feedback. I should mention that the jaw remains in an open position, and I designed the grill with more open area to avoid impacting air intake. Tests showed a negligible effect.
No, I wouldn’t. I might have considered them when I was 14, but I wouldn’t have had a car then anyway. I don’t like the appearance, and they will definitely reduce performance.
