OP, I think most of us are having the same issues. I’m just going to wait.
People said the same thing about GTA V—that it should skip PS3 entirely. It will release on PS5, so don’t worry. There will likely be a free or $10 upgrade for PS6, and it will look great whether you play on PS5, PS5 Pro, or PS6.
They won’t skip the PS5 because there’s too much money at stake, and they’ll want players to buy it on both consoles.
I’m in the same situation, but I plan to buy a PS5 Pro before the game releases since I have a gaming PC and will end up buying it for both platforms anyway.

It’s possible the same situation as Red Dead Redemption 2 could occur, though a PS6 version likely wouldn’t take as long to release. I was just imagining the scenario where I finally managed to get a PS5, only to potentially have to save up twice as much for a PS6—all because I’m dedicated to playing every Rockstar release.
The PS5 launched in 2020 and is still quite expensive. I can only imagine how much the PS6 will cost.
I’ll wait for the PS6 release to buy a PS4 or PS5.
