Why are the comments on this post so hostile?
He’s likely referring to Phantom Blade Zero.
Let’s hope this isn’t the beginning of continuous false promises.
It’s a rather disappointing statement that the PS5 is only now hitting its stride after five years.
The PS5 still has plenty of life left, and there’s no real need for a PS6 yet. Why rush into a marginal upgrade with another $700+ price tag?
You could make the same argument for the PS4. While the PS5 offers a much more comfortable and engaging experience than the PS4, even though they largely play the same games, I expect the PS6 will provide a similar upgrade. No one is forcing you to buy anything, but resistance to innovation is what slows progress and leads to continued releases of PS4-level games.
I never said people shouldn’t buy a PS5, just that it still has plenty of life left. If you want to spend a significant amount on a minor upgrade, that’s your choice. For the record, the PS5 was much more than a marginal improvement over the PS4. I’m not sure why you’re so upset and resorting to insults.
Why assume the PS6 will only be a marginal upgrade? It feels like you’re pushing a narrative.
Even high-end PCs currently offer only a marginal upgrade. What new technology is available now that would represent a major leap?
The PS4 likely hit its stride in 2018, five years after its launch, with major releases like God of War, Spider-Man, and Uncharted: Lost Legacy, among others. I don’t see a significant difference in this case.
It’s unlikely Astro Bot and Death Stranding 2 will live up to those expectations. They haven’t maintained that level of momentum.
Ghost of Yotei, Gran Turismo’s Spec 3.0 and Power Pack in December will completely revamp the game again, plus Helldivers 2 and whatever else is planned for next year. The lineup is comparable enough that the difference is negligible.
I can’t say the same for myself. None of their recent games compare to God of War, Spider-Man, or Naughty Dog titles. To me, they seem to lack direction at this point.
Naughty Dog is my favorite developer. What a foolish statement.
It sounds like you’re having a tough time. Maybe picking up a hobby like gaming could help during difficult periods.
Bloodborne 2
They’re referring to the game’s storage size, not its quality.
The upcoming game Concord is a remaster.
It’s not surprising, since most games are still playable on PS4 and the standout titles of a generation often arrive toward the end. I didn’t expect remasters of PS4 games to break records.
My guess is it’s the new Naughty Dog game, because the mature tone of Wolverine might not appeal to as broad an audience—parents likely won’t buy it for younger players.
The real question is whether this “big PS5 game” will be multiplatform or even available on PS6, considering the next generation is only about two years away.
I find that major AAA releases often fall short, while indie games consistently deliver.
Knack 3 is on the way.
Guerrilla Games, Sony Santa Monica, and Naughty Dog are all expected to release games within the next few years. While Sony has other studios, these are the most consistently productive. Since we don’t know what Santa Monica is currently developing, their project could be the one referenced.
It’s hard to imagine any first-party game surpassing GTA6, so that must be what they’re referring to.
This is expected to be the biggest game release in terms of sales.
Cory Barlog’s game is likely slated for 2027 or 2028.
You’re probably right.
It’s clear that My Name is Mayo 4 hasn’t been announced yet.
A true Mayo fan would know that Mayo 3 concluded the series, so there won’t be any more games.
