Als jemand, der aktuell ein 70/700 Teleskop verwendet und sich verbessern möchte, bin ich kürzlich auf ein Celestron Powerseeker 114 EQ vor Ort zu einem attraktiven Preis gestoßen. Ich frage mich, ob dieses Modell für die Beobachtung von tiefen Himmelsobjekten (DSOs) geeignet ist, oder ob ich weiter nach einer anderen Teleskopoption suchen sollte.

Interessant, dass du von einem 70/700er aufsteigen willst und speziell für Deep-Sky suchst. Ich hatte selbst mal ein ähnliches Newton-Teleskop wie den Powerseeker 114 EQ und fand die kurze Brennweite für ausgedehnte Objekte wie den Orionnebel eigentlich gut, aber die Montierung war oft zu wackelig für höhere Vergrößerungen. Vielleicht solltest du vor dem Kauf prüfen, ob die EQ-Montierung stabil genug für deine Beobachtungen wirkt – bei mir war das der Knackpunkt. Wie ist denn dein Eindruck von der Verarbeitung vor Ort?

Bei der kurzen Brennweite und Öffnung des Powerseeker 114 EQ sind zwar helle Deep-Sky-Objekte wie Orionnebel oder die Andromedagalaxie gut zu erfassen, aber wie du richtig sagst, kann eine wackelige Montierung die Freude trüben. Mein Tipp: Probiere das Gerät vor Ort aus, indem du die Montierung bei leichtem Fingerdruck testest und schaust, wie lange sie nachgibt – das verrät viel über die Stabilität. Berichte gerne, wie dein Eindruck war oder ob du weitere Optionen in Betracht ziehst.
The PowerSeeker series is notoriously poor, and while the 114EQ isn’t the worst model, it has a wobbly mount and low-quality accessories. You would be better off with a similarly priced or even less expensive tabletop Dobsonian telescope.
The Powerseeker 114EQ is widely considered one of the worst telescopes you can buy. It has a spherical mirror that produces poor image quality, a shaky mount that makes it difficult to use, and generally provides a very frustrating experience, especially for a beginner. For a similar budget, you can find much better options that will actually show you clear views of the planets and moon. I strongly recommend checking the wiki on r/telescopes for some good beginner recommendations.
If you can get it very cheaply and plan to modify it into a Dobsonian, then yes. Otherwise, no. As others have noted, the telescope itself is acceptable, but the mount is nearly unsafe.
Low-end Celestron telescopes are generally poor quality.
If you have to ask, then no.
That said, the issues with the Powerseeker 114 are mainly with the mount and eyepieces, so it is possible to improve it.
I would not recommend it. It’s not a good telescope.
