Als jemand in meinen späten 30ern, der seit Jahren nicht gespielt hat, hat die jüngste Aufregung um Ghost of Yotei und Social-Media-Videos mein Interesse an modernem Gaming geweckt. Obwohl meine Freizeit begrenzt ist, habe ich beschlossen, mir eine PS5 zu gönnen, mit der Hoffnung, etwas von dem Vergnügen zu recapturieren, das ich aus früheren Tagen kannte. Ich hatte verschiedene PS5-Bundles auf Amazon beobachtet und auf Black Friday-Rabatte gewartet, als sich der NBA 2K26-Bundle in meinem Warenkorb von 55K auf 44K reduzierte, plus ein 2K Cashback-Angebot. Trotz gemischter Online-Bewertungen zum Verkäufer schien das Angebot vielversprechend genug, um den Kauf fortzusetzen.

Bei der Lieferung stellte meine Frau Schäden an der äußeren Verpackung fest, und als ich nach Hause kam, hatte der Zusteller bereits die Box geöffnet und die PS5-Box auf den Tisch gelegt. Die Verpackung zeigte klare Anzeichen von Manipulation – gebrochene Verschlüsse wurden grob mit Klebeband wieder verschlossen. Gemäß den Anweisungen von Amazon habe ich ein Unboxing-Video aufgenommen, das einen gebrauchten Konsole mit Kratzern, Fingerabdrücken, einem defekten Controller und einem fehlenden Ständer enthüllte, alles sorglos neu verpackt. Amazon-Support reagierte prompt und gab eine Ersatzlieferung innerhalb von 2–4 Tagen bekannt. Obwohl sowohl der Zusteller als auch der Support hilfsbereit waren, ist die ursprüngliche Begeisterung über das Auspacken meiner ersten PlayStation – und die Nostalgie, die damit verbunden war – verständlicherweise verblasst. Ich hoffe weiterhin, dass die Ersatzlieferung ein neues, versiegeltes Gerät sein wird und andere solche enttäuschende Erfahrungen vermeiden können.

  1. I also bought the PS5 for the same reason. The outer cardboard box was missing, and the PS5 box itself was in poor condition. I had the delivery agent open it in front of me, and everything inside was brand new and untouched. After verifying everything, I shared the OTP. It’s possible someone returned the PS5 and it was sent to you without being checked.

  2. Sorry to hear about your experience. I hope you receive a brand new machine next time. I suspected this deal was too good to be true. In India, it’s common to encounter people looking to scam others. At least Amazon willingly issued a replacement for you.

  3. I purchased mine directly from the Sony Store at the full price of 54K about five months ago.

    Even though Amazon was offering it for 43K with an additional 3K credit card discount, I still chose to buy offline. I don’t trust online sellers for big purchases when I can get the same item in person from a credible store. If anything goes wrong, I can hold them accountable quickly.

    For me, the excitement lies in the whole experience: seeing the package, checking its condition, and unboxing the console myself rather than having the delivery person do it.

    I prefer to avoid the anxiety of whether the parcel will arrive on time, in good condition, or without damage. If something goes wrong—delays, no delivery, or a damaged package or console—it becomes a hassle of calls and emails, which I’d rather not deal with.

    If you can afford it, save up a bit more and buy offline or find a retail store offering discounts where you can pick it up in person.

    As for the OP, I feel sorry for them, and I hope the issue gets resolved.

  6. I purchased a pre-owned, in-warranty console from Gameloot for 40k, and it arrived in much better condition with all paperwork intact. Even the box was in good shape. I feel for you, but at least it’s still a PS5.

  7. When sellers’ kids want a new console, they sometimes keep the new one and send you their used ones. This happened to me with Flipkart, but fortunately it was an open box delivery, so I didn’t accept it.

  8. While good deals are fine, that’s why I prefer buying these items offline. I purchased mine from a Reliance store and got a 5k instant discount with my credit card. It cost 49.9k but came with zero stress.

  9. I ordered my device directly from Sony, and it arrived in perfect condition. My Meta Quest 3 from Flipkart was also delivered without issues. Unfortunately, problems like this seem to happen more often with Amazon delivery personnel, who sometimes show little consideration. For example, one delivery agent repeatedly gave missed calls and canceled my orders over a 15-day period.

    I ordered mine from Flipkart for 42.5k and received it through open box delivery. The product was brand new and in perfect condition.

  11. I purchased my PS5 from the official Sony store for around 58,000 to 60,000 rupees. The delivery experience was better than what I’ve had with Amazon and Flipkart.

  12. It’s disappointing to hear that so many of you have had this experience. I still remember each time my consoles arrived over the years—my two Xbox 360s and eventually my PS5. I’m sorry this happened to you all. I hope the original poster gets a proper replacement. This is one reason why it’s often better to buy physical items in person when possible, though I did get one of my Xbox consoles from Flipkart many years ago.

  13. The slim version you ordered does not include a full vertical stand. It only comes with two small pegs for horizontal placement. The original, bulkier PS5 model was the one that included the vertical stand.
