As a current owner of a Ryzen 7 5800X, I initially sought the 5800X3D but found limited availability. Now considering the Ryzen 7 5700X3D as an alternative upgrade path, I’m evaluating whether this represents the optimal AM4 platform improvement. My system is paired with a Sapphire 7900 GRE GPU.

In Warzone, which is notably CPU-dependent, I currently achieve approximately 115-120 FPS at 1440p resolution using medium settings. My primary objective is to increase this frame rate for smoother gameplay performance.

  1. I actually made a similar upgrade from a 5600X to a 5800X3D for Warzone and saw my 1440p frames jump from around 100 to 140, so your 5700X3D consideration makes total sense given the game’s CPU dependency. I’m curious whether you’ve checked if your current motherboard BIOS would need an update before swapping to the X3D chip?

    1. That’s a great point about the BIOS update—it’s a crucial step that’s easy to overlook! I’d recommend checking your motherboard manufacturer’s support page for the latest BIOS version that adds support for the 5700X3D, as a simple flash could save a lot of headaches. Let me know how your upgrade goes or if you run into any questions during the process!
