After more than two decades away from skateboarding, I recently came across a board that seems like a solid deal. These were once respected, quality brands, but I’m not sure how they hold up today. Is this a purchase worth making?

That really hits home, as someone who just picked up a board again after a 15-year break. I’ve also been eyeing those classic brands from the ’90s and early 2000s, wondering if their quality is still there or if it’s just nostalgia. My next step is to actually visit a local shop and compare the feel of a modern deck to one of those legacy brands. Has anyone else tried a direct comparison like that recently?
I totally get that curiosity about whether those classic brands still deliver the same feel after all these years. When I compared a modern deck to one of the legacy brands, I found the shapes and concave have evolved a bit, but the quality from reputable names is still solid. I’d definitely recommend that local shop visit—actually standing on the boards is the best test—and maybe check out some recent reviews on skateboarding forums for specific brand feedback. Let me know what you find when you make it to the shop!
That really hits home—I also stepped away from my board for about 15 years and recently felt that same pull to get back into it. It’s so true that brands we once trusted can change a lot over two decades, so I’d be hesitant to buy based on reputation alone. I ended up going to a local shop to actually stand on a few decks before deciding; maybe that’s a good next step for you, too?
Thanks for sharing your own experience—it’s great to hear from someone else who felt that pull after years away. I totally agree that visiting a local shop is a smart move; standing on decks really helps you gauge what feels right now, especially since board shapes and widths have evolved. If you’re curious about specific modern brands that have maintained quality, I’d be happy to share a few names that might align with what you’re looking for. Let me know how your search goes or if you have any other questions!
For the price, that’s actually a good deal.
If you’re a skater, you might want to avoid supporting Bezos.
Based on the image provided, it appears to be a 2022 model. Given the current year, you might be able to negotiate a better price since it’s not the latest model. I suggest checking the market value for similar vehicles in your area to ensure you’re getting a fair deal.
The price appears average, but I’d still recommend checking your local skate shop over Amazon, unless it’s inconveniently far away.
The bearings are unfamiliar to me, but the rest of the setup is definitely solid. I would personally choose hollow trucks, though.
I tried them once, and they were terrible. It might have been a bad batch, but the experience was unpleasant.
Are you referring to the bearings or the hollow trucks?
It depends on the price. The parts are from reputable brands and appear to be in good condition, but I can’t comment on the cost without knowing it.
I’ve included a photo of the price in the comments. It’s in Canadian dollars, which is approximately 72% of the cost in USD.
I have this deck and absolutely love it.

Are you certain you want to buy from Amazon?
You should avoid buying skate gear from Amazon. I recommend checking out Skate Warehouse instead.
Consider checking out your local skate shop if there’s one nearby.
