Best Portable Mini Speaker 2025: B&O A1 First Gen Review & Sound Quality Test

基于以上问题,我认为A1更适合近距离的听音场景(2米以内电脑蓝牙50-60%音量、iPhone蓝牙60-70%音量的音质效果最好),比如挂在书桌前一个人欣赏音乐,一旦音量大了、距离远了,就会凸显低频能量不够、中高频过于突出的问题;

I really appreciate the detailed breakdown of the A1’s sound characteristics. The emphasis on mid and high frequencies definitely gives it a unique listening experience, especially for vocal-heavy tracks, but I can see how its limitations might be dealbreakers for certain genres or settings. Hanging it up to listen seems like a must for getting the best sound quality! Overall, it sounds like a great little speaker if you know what to expect going in.
I totally agree that the A1’s sound signature is polarizing. The emphasis on mids and highs gives it a super clear and upfront sound, which is great for certain genres but falls short when you need more balanced or immersive audio. I also noticed the directional listening issue—it really does change depending on where you place it. For what it is, though, it’s still a fun little speaker if you know its limitations!
I totally agree that the A1 Gen 1 has a very distinct sound profile, especially with its emphasis on clarity and detail in the mids and highs. It’s definitely not for everyone, but I can see why it might appeal to fans of vocal-focused genres or those who enjoy a more “airy” listening experience. The limitations like poor bass performance and single-channel setup are hard to ignore though, so I’d think twice before using it for anything other than intimate listening sessions. Overall, it’s an interesting product that delivers on its own terms, just don’t expect versatility.
I totally agree with your breakdown, especially on the low-end being underwhelming—it’s a bummer for genres that rely on deep bass. But man, the mid and high frequencies are just stunning, making it perfect for focusing on vocals or detailed instrumentals in a quiet room. I wish they’d addressed some of these issues in later models though, like improving the mono soundstage or reducing the volume-induced harshness. Overall, it’s still one of my favorite portable speakers for personal listening experiences!
I totally agree with your analysis, especially about the low-end being underwhelming but making the mids and highs shine. The “girl vocal” reputation definitely makes sense now after hearing it firsthand—though I wish the soundstage was a bit more immersive for a wider range of genres. For such a small speaker, it’s impressive how distinct each instrument sounds in the upper registers, even if it lacks depth overall. Just be prepared to hang it or keep it close for the best experience!
I totally agree that the A1 Gen 1 has a unique sound profile, especially with how upfront the mids and highs are. It’s great for intimate listening sessions but I can see why it wouldn’t work as well for bigger scenes or movies. The low end is definitely its weak point, even with the cool sandstone color being a highlight. Overall, it sounds like a speaker that really emphasizes personal enjoyment over versatility.
Absolutely agree! The A1 Gen 1 truly shines in personal settings where you can appreciate those detailed mids and highs. While the bass might not fill larger spaces, its portability and design make it perfect for on-the-go enjoyment. Thanks for sharing your thoughts—music is all about finding what works best for you, and this speaker definitely nails that vibe.
I gotta say, the B&O A1 Gen 1 definitely has a unique sound profile. That emphasis on mids and highs makes vocals pop, but the lack of low-end really limits its versatility—can see why it’s polarizing among audiophiles. For intimate listening sessions though, it delivers a clarity that’s hard to beat in this size and price range. Just be mindful of where you place it; orientation really matters for the best experience!
I totally agree that the A1 Gen 1 has a very distinct sound profile, especially with how upfront the vocals are. It’s clear this speaker shines in more intimate settings, like listening to acoustic or female vocal-heavy tracks up close. The balance of clarity and detail is impressive but as you said, it really shows its limits with bigger, more dynamic music. I wish they’d addressed some of those early gen issues like low-end performance in newer models!
I totally agree that the A1 Gen 1 has a very distinct sound signature, especially with how upfront the mids and highs are. It’s great for intimate listening sessions but I can see why it wouldn’t work as well for bigger scenes or movies. The low end could definitely be better, but maybe that’s just the trade-off for its portability and design. Overall, it sounds like a fun speaker if you know what to expect!
Absolutely agree! The A1 Gen 1’s sound is all about that engaging mid-high clarity—perfect for music that shines in vocal presence. You’re right, though; the bass doesn’t hit hard enough for big genres or movie nights. But hey, that compact size and sleek design make it hard not to love for on-the-go tunes. Fun and charming, just as portable speakers should be! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I really appreciate the detailed breakdown of the A1’s sound characteristics. The emphasis on mid and high frequencies definitely gives it a unique sound signature that could be great for certain genres, but I can see how its limitations might be dealbreakers for others. It sounds like it needs to be used in just the right setting to shine. I wonder how it compares to other small speakers in terms of battery life since that wasn’t mentioned.
I totally agree that the A1 Gen 1 has a unique sound profile, especially with how upfront the mids and highs are. The “female vocal” reputation makes sense after reading this, but I can see why it might get fatiguing at higher volumes. It sounds like a great companion for focused listening sessions but not ideal for parties or larger spaces. I wish they’d addressed the low-end issues in later models since it really limits its versatility.
I totally agree with your assessment of the B&O A1 Gen 1—its sound is polarizing but undeniably unique. The emphasis on mids and highs really shines for vocal-heavy tracks, but as you said, it struggles with low-end and spatial depth. I think it’s a fantastic travel companion for focused listening sessions but not ideal for group setups or bass-heavy genres. Hanging it up definitely improves the experience, especially at lower volumes!
I totally agree that the A1 Gen 1 has a very distinct sound signature, especially with how upfront the vocals are. The trade-off with limited low-end is noticeable, but I actually enjoy its clarity for certain genres like acoustic or jazz. Just hanging it up definitely improves the experience, as the sound becomes much more balanced. It’s definitely a love-it-or-leave-it kind of speaker!
I totally agree that the A1 Gen 1 has a very distinctive sound profile. The emphasis on mids and highs makes it shine with certain genres, but as you said, the lack of low end can be a dealbreaker for some music types. It sounds like it’s best suited for intimate listening sessions rather than big group gatherings or movies. I think your breakdown of its strengths and weaknesses is spot-on!
I totally agree that the A1 Gen 1 has a very distinct sound profile, especially with those emphasized highs and clear mids. It’s definitely an “either you love it or you hate it” kind of speaker, but I can see why it might be polarizing due to its limitations in bass and soundstage. For someone who mostly listens to vocal-heavy genres or ACG music, this could be a gem, though. Just be mindful of the volume and placement if you want the best experience!
I’ve had the A1 first gen for a year now and totally agree about the “clear but thin” sound signature—it’s perfect for acoustic tracks but falls flat with anything bass-heavy. That sandstone color looks amazing though, wish I’d waited for that edition! Do you think EQ tweaks could help the low end, or is it just a hardware limitation?
Thanks for sharing your experience! The A1’s bass response is indeed limited by its compact hardware, but a slight EQ boost in the lower frequencies can help—just don’t expect dramatic changes. I personally love pairing it with a bass-heavy playlist on medium volume for a balanced sound. That sandstone color is a stunner, isn’t it? Fingers crossed for a future sale!
