Experiencing persistent graphics driver crashes while streaming Valorant through OBS has been a recurring issue, despite using a well-equipped desktop setup. The system includes an RX 7900 GRE GPU, Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU, and an MSI B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI motherboard, running on Windows 10 Pro with AMD Adrenaline 25.9.1 drivers. The problem consistently arises about 15 minutes into streaming at 1080p with an 8k bitrate, regardless of whether the x264 or h.264 encoder is selected in OBS. Monitoring has shown no signs of GPU overheating or performance anomalies during these sessions, with the only indication being an “AMD has detected a driver timeout” error message.

To address this, several troubleshooting steps have already been undertaken. These include performing a Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) clean-up, updating the BIOS, adjusting GPU clock speeds below their maximum capability, and experimenting with various OBS settings. Despite these efforts, the driver crashes persist exclusively during streaming activities, while other applications like Discord and Valorant run without issue.
