As someone looking to start streaming on Twitch, I have a capable setup but face a challenge with my AMD graphics card, which struggles with video encoding. I’m considering an Intel ARC card in the $300 range as a dedicated encoding solution, since spending over $400 on an NVIDIA alternative isn’t feasible right now. My dilemma is whether to sell my current AMD 6800XT for approximately $380 and upgrade to a higher-end NVIDIA card around $700, or simply add an ARC card to handle encoding separately.

My system includes a Ryzen 5 7600X processor, an AMD 6800XT graphics card, 32 GB of DDR5 memory, and an AM5 motherboard. Given these specs, I’m weighing the benefits of a full GPU upgrade against a more budget-friendly encoding-focused addition.
