I’d choose the S25. It offers better hardware, longer battery life under heavy use, solid software, reliable support, and its computational photography is only a bit behind the Pixel’s.
As for ads, I’m not sure about other regions, but I use an S-series phone in the EU and haven’t encountered any built-in ads.

Samsung is one of the top three smartphone cameras. The Pixel is slightly better, but I’ve tried both.
According to Dxomark rankings, the Samsung S25 Ultra is only at number 21, while the Pixel 10 Pro ranks fifth. The base S25 isn’t even listed, as its camera is identical to the two-year-old S24 model. Even the three-year-old Pixel 8 Pro outperforms Samsung’s best 2025 offering, which is quite disappointing.
I would choose the Samsung S25.
