  3. It’s likely that Portal will be supported in the PS6 era, as there are no major technical limitations preventing it. Unless Sony significantly redesigns the console, there’s little reason for them to drop support. The recent updates suggest continued backing and longevity for the device.

    One underappreciated advantage is the ability to stream a game on one device and play natively on another, allowing a single account to enable local co-op. This is especially valuable given the scarcity of local co-op games. For example, my wife and I can now enjoy titles like Saints Row, Ghost Recon, and Far Cry together in the same room using a PS5, PS Portal, and PS Premium.

    1. Local co-op games are great, and it’s a shame there are so few these days. You’d think major successes like *Split Fiction* and *It Takes Two* would make companies realize there’s a market for them. I was disappointed that *Little Nightmares 3* didn’t include local co-op—it would have been perfect for that game. I’ve seen many others say the same thing and that they won’t buy it for that reason.

      The new update for Portal is significant, and I’m really considering buying the device. I also started thinking about the PS6 generation and how much more the next consoles will likely cost. If Portal works with next-gen games, it could be a good option for some people.
