For general use, the AMD version is better due to its superior integrated graphics. If you need Thunderbolt support for specific peripherals, then the Intel model is the way to go.
Both chips offer similar performance and power efficiency, so either option is a solid choice.
Is there truly no significant difference between the two?
There’s no Ultra 5 255H processor, so you likely meant the Ultra 7 255H. If it’s available, I’d recommend choosing it since it outperforms both the Ultra 5 and the Ryzen AI 7 350.
The 255h is slightly faster than both the 225h and AI 350.
Performance-wise, the 225h and AI 350 are similar, but for integrated graphics, the order is 255h > 225h > AI 350.
While the AI 350 may seem less competitive, it includes an NPU for Copilot Plus and is unlocked, allowing for undervolting or overclocking if you’re interested in tuning.
Additionally, if you use software that benefits from Intel Quick Sync, the 225h and 255h will perform considerably better than the AI 350.
