Xiaomi 15S Pro Retail Version Review: Features, Performance, and Value
As soon as the press conference wrapped up last night, I wasted no time placing my order on JD.
With the national subsidy in effect, the 512GB version is priced at just 4999 yuan! That’s actually cheaper than the previous model, considering the 15Pro was originally listed at 5299 yuan.
First Impressions: I opted for the dragon scale fiber edition.
The back cover feels sleeker and flatter compared to the 15Pro, eliminating the noticeable frame transition that characterized its predecessor. It’s noticeably thinner in hand, though the dragon scale design does make it a bit more slippery—so be cautious to avoid accidental drops.
Camera: It delivers consistent performance with the 15Pro, supporting 4K video recording across all scenarios!
Audio: The speakers have been significantly upgraded from the 15Pro, providing clearer and richer sound quality.
Kudos to Xiaomi for including the AR low-reflection film as a standard feature, which enhances the screen’s darkness and clarity!
Gaming Performance: Personally, I don’t perceive a significant difference compared to the Snapdragon 8 Ultimate.
Heat Management: While it does heat up slightly during data transfers, the warmth isn’t particularly noticeable during regular daily use or gaming sessions.
Special Edition Touches: As the 15th-anniversary model, this phone boasts exclusive designs on both the power button and flash. In my opinion, these details are fantastic!
Additionally, the bundled phone case and lanyard are of exceptional quality.
Some might argue that 4999 yuan isn’t worth it and suggest opting for a second-hand 15Ultra instead, but I beg to differ. The 15sPro offers superior tactile comfort. If photography isn’t your top priority, I believe the 15sPro is the better choice, delivering a more comfortable feel, an improved motor, and enhanced audio performance!
