LG G5 Won’t Turn Off With PS5? Here’s the Fix & Compatibility Solution
The CEC feature is up and running, and my PS5 is fully configured. When I power on the console using the controller, the TV springs to life alongside it – but here’s the catch: shutting down the PS5 leaves the TV running, only displaying a frustrating “No Signal” message.

Interestingly, the same TV plays nicely with my Apple TV, seamlessly powering on and off in perfect sync.

So here’s my question to the tech-savvy crowd: how can I get this working properly with my PS5? [LOL][LOL]

That sounds like a frustrating issue! I had no idea the LG G5 and PS5 combo could be so finicky. Maybe LG needs to push a firmware update to fix this CEC compatibility problem. It’s wild that your Apple TV works perfectly but not the PS5.
I’ve had the same issue with my LG G5 and PS5 combo. It’s weird because other devices work fine, like your Apple TV example. Maybe LG needs to push a firmware update to fix this CEC compatibility problem. Hope they address it soon!

That’s a bummer about the PS5 not properly shutting down your LG G5 TV. I wonder if LG will push an update to fix this since the Apple TV works perfectly with it. Maybe try disabling CEC settings temporarily to see if that helps? It’s one of those compatibility quirks that can be annoying but not deal-breaking.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It’s possible that LG might address this in a future software update, but in the meantime, tweaking the CEC settings could definitely help. Disabling CEC temporarily is worth a shot—sometimes these small adjustments make a big difference. Appreciate you bringing up the comparison with Apple TV; it highlights how compatibility can vary!
