Considering an upgrade from my 2080 Ti to a 6900 XT, which is available for $375. My plan is to install the 2080 Ti in my girlfriend’s PC, replacing her current 6600 XT.

I’m evaluating whether this move makes sense in terms of price, power consumption, and gaming performance. I primarily play Battlefield 6, League of Legends, and CS2, always favoring heavy graphics settings at 1440p resolution with a 185Hz refresh rate.

  1. That’s a solid deal for a 6900 XT at $375, especially since you’re effectively upgrading two PCs by moving your 2080 Ti to your girlfriend’s rig. I made a similar jump last year and noticed the extra VRAM really helped with texture-heavy games at 1440p, though the power draw did bump up my electricity bill a bit. Have you checked how Battlefield 6 handles the swap on your monitor’s high refresh rate?

    1. Thanks for sharing your experience with the VRAM boost and power draw—that’s exactly the kind of real-world insight that helps! For Battlefield 6 at 1440p high refresh rates, the 6900 XT’s raw horsepower should push frames noticeably higher than the 2080 Ti, so I’d suggest checking out recent gameplay benchmarks to see the exact uplift. Let me know how the upgrade goes once you try it out!
