Embarking on my first PC build, I initially considered the RX 7900GRE and RX 9070XT, both with 16GB of VRAM, but after reviewing various sources, I’m leaning toward Nvidia. My budget has consistently been set at 1.5L for the PC alone, so I’m eyeing the RTX 5070. I’d appreciate feedback on whether I should add or remove components from my list, or if there are equally effective alternatives that could save money—aside from the GPU and CPU, which I’d prefer to keep as is.
My current setup is an Acer Aspire 7 from 2020, with a Ryzen 5 3550H and GTX 1650, so I’m unsure how significant the upgrade will feel, but I’m eager to enhance my experience. My usage is almost entirely gaming (99%), with minimal productivity (1%). I typically play at 1080p on low or very low settings and already own a 24-inch 1080p 180Hz monitor, a Redragon K630 keyboard, and both wireless and wired mice. While I plan to upgrade the monitor eventually, this one should suffice for now.
I’m also weighing options for the GPU and motherboard. Gigabyte offers the RTX 5070 in series like AERO, Windforce, Gaming, and Elite, with cooling being the main difference; I’m curious how much this impacts real-world performance and whether I could opt for Windforce over AORUS. Additionally, I’m torn between the B650 and B850 motherboards and whether to choose the B650 or B650M variant, so any suggestions based on my needs would be helpful.
